A counsellor from the Hunter Women’s Centre will be at Jacaranda Ave every 2nd Wednesday offering free counselling for women who:
are experiencing or at risk of family or domestic violence and abuse;
are disadvantaged and marginalised including CALD and Indigenous women;
are socially and geographically isolated.
Priority Health Issues:
domestic and family violence and abuse;
emotional issues including self-esteem, depression, anxiety and stress;
relationship issues including the promotion of healthy and supportive relationships;
lifestyle risk factors for women, including alcohol andother drugs, smoking and physical health;
preventative health strategies.
Making a referral
Referrers can phone or email HWC with their client’s details. HWC will contact the woman directly, conduct their own intake assessment and book an appointment to meet them at Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services.
