$6700 in grants for two Port Stephens programs

Clontarf Foundation, which uses a unique, innovative and highly successful approach to assist young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to transition into meaningful employment, has received Port Stephens Council mayoral funding.
The foundation, which has been operating a successful program at Irrawang High School, received a donation of $2000.
Students attend morning training twice weekly, participating in a wide variety of sports and attend excursions and employment visits.
Also receiving funding at the last meeting of council was the Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Service.
Port councillors approved $4700 in mayoral funds towards school holidays and Christmas activities for young people.
