Rotary Club of Raymond Terrace to host domestic and family violence awareness event

Rotary Club of Raymond Terrace is set to join forces with the Hunter Police district on Friday, November 29 for an event to raise awareness about domestic and family violence.

The event will take place on William Street from 9am to 12pm.

Guest speakers such council representatives, rotary, police and Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services will speak on various aspects of domestic violence in the community.

Raymond Terrace Rotary Club president Adam Nicholas said the event was also held last year in Raymond Terrace.

“This year, we have guest speakers who will speak on domestic violence,” he said.

On the day, attendees can visit information stalls and enjoy a free sausage sandwich.

Events will also be hosted by Rotary clubs in Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Newcastle.

Rotary’s Day of Action on Friday, November 29 is part of the United Nations 16 Days of Activism.
